Saturday 31 October 2026 (forecast as published Fri 30 Oct)

Diveable but less settled: ESE-SE 7-8 kn with a squally spell around 13:00-14:00 (to ~10 kn, gusts 24-27 kn), seas ~0.25 m in the bays (~0.4-0.5 m West), showers more likely as the day goes on and rain with possible thunderstorms 19:00-21:00 (~10 mm for the day). Tides heading toward neaps. House sites and wrecks morning and midday; Canyons on the late flood into the 14:48 high (drop in ~14:00-14:30, so ask to push the 13:30 boat later) or the early flood ~08:45-09:30; skip Verde; night dive only at sheltered house sites, and call it off if there is lightning.

Areas at a glance

Sabang/La Laguna bays

SlotRating
9:00Good
11:00Good
13:30Good
18:00 nightFair

Sheltered from the ESE-SE wind (7-8 kn; a gusty squall possible ~13:00-14:00). Light showers by day (under 1 mm per hour); heavier rain and possible thunderstorms 19:00-21:00 (~6 mm), so the night dive is weather-dependent.

18:00 nightPoor

5 days after full moon, tides easing toward neaps (last quarter Mon 2 Nov). Low 08:24, high 14:48. Early flood from ~08:45; mid-flood strongest late morning; best window is the last of the flood about 14:00-14:30 into the 14:48 high slack. At 13:30 the flood is still running. Seas ~0.25 m.

SE walls

SlotRating
9:00Good
11:00Fair
13:30Fair
18:00 nightPoor

ESE-SE wind blows onto these walls; seas ~0.25 m, but gusts 20-27 kn from late morning into early afternoon. Pink Wall toward the 14:48 high; Kilima Steps toward the 17:47 low. Not a night option.

Ernie's Cave/Dungon Wall

SlotRating
9:00Fair
11:00Fair
13:30Good
18:00 nightPoor

Flood builds after the 08:24 low; easiest from 13:30 toward the 14:48 high. Showers by day are light.

Verde Island

SlotRating
9:00Poor
11:00Poor
13:30Poor
18:00 nightPoor

Verde rain chance 67-94% from 11:00 to 15:00 with a gusty squall possible ~13:00-14:00, and the 14:48 high slack falls outside the usual slots. Low slack (08:24) is too early for most boats. Skip Verde Sat.

West side

SlotRating
9:00Good
11:00Good
13:30Fair
18:00 nightPoor

ESE wind is offshore here, but seas are ~0.4 m by day and build to ~0.5 m by evening. Gusty early afternoon. Small ebb after the 14:48 high.

Daytime range ~0.8 m (08:24 low to 14:48 high); the afternoon ebb is tiny (~0.1 m), then a big evening flood. Slack can differ from tide times; confirm with your dive op.

Tides easing toward neaps, so currents are weaker than earlier in the week, but the Verde Island Passage still runs hard on the evening flood. Moon below the horizon at 18:00; rises ~66% lit at 22:28, so the night dive is dark.

Visibility (estimate)

Sabang bays

Afternoon, after showers
10-15 m

Estimate only (Fair): Fri rain ~2.5 mm, mostly in the evening, and Sat daytime showers are light (most of the ~10 mm falls after 19:00), so daytime viz should be similar to Fri; ESE wind-waves ~0.25 m; weaker currents toward neaps stir less sediment. Viz may drop after heavier rain Sat night. No dated diver viz reports found.

The wind model is coarse: all three points share the same wind values and gusts often run high; Sabang and Verde also share the same wave values. Model rain for Sat 31 Oct is ~10.4 mm, with ~6.4 mm from 19:00 to 21:00 and a thunderstorm signal around 20:00. The official national outlook issued 04:00 Fri has no tropical cyclone in the area (low pressure area far east of Samar; a super typhoon well outside PAR, far to the east), with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms for this region and light to moderate NE-N wind, slight to moderate seas. Check the latest bulletin before you go and carry a rain plan. Confirm slack times with your dive op. Depths are typical ranges, not verified per site.
